In March quarter 2016, there were 80 disputes, eight more than in December quarter 2015.
The number of employees involved in industrial disputes in March quarter 2016 was 23,900, an increase of 3,500 from December quarter 2015.
There were 27,900 working days lost due to industrial disputation in March quarter 2016, an increase of 8,800 from December quarter 2015.
The Construction industry (10,800) had the highest number of working days lost by industry, accounting for 39% of total working days lost.
Queensland (14,700) had the highest number of working days lost of any state or territory in March quarter 2016, accounting for 52% of total working days lost. Queensland also had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (6.8) for the quarter, followed closely by Australian Capital Territory (6.7).
YEAR ENDED ESTIMATES
During the year ended March 2016, there were 263 disputes, 64 more than in the year ended March 2015.
Over the same period, there were 90,900 working days lost, compared with 82,200 in the year ended March 2015.
